I have recently realised that it is quite easy to trick the mind into thinking that you are actually getting stuff done. I started learning HTML and CSS back in 2014 yet I have barely anything to show for it. I always talk about what I want to do but hardly ever get it done. When I realised this I knew I had to make some major changes. I know where I want to be in the future and I have to do everything I can in order to get. This is one of the reasons why I decided to change things up on the blog. I will be documenting my journey of learning how to code on my blog. I'm focusing on web development as well as mobile app development.

How exactly do I plan on learning?

Codecademy:

This is a online resource with various courses that I discovered a couple of months ago. It's recommended by many peopl, it's very easy to use and it's free.

YouTube:

There are countless YouTubers who share useful tips. It's also easily accessible and free.

Forums and Blogs:

These are great for when I get stuck on at a certain point. Just type in the question on Google and somebody has probably solved the problem.

Books:

I'm still trying to find out which books to buy and I will definitely share them with you.

I can't explain how excited I am to FINALLY get serious about learning how to code. Here's to a new adventure!

I started this blog over three years ago. I was fourteen at the time and life was totally different. I can barely explain all that has happened over the past few years and that is why I've decided to make some big changes.

I am no longer the same person I was when I started this blog. I have grown and I have discovered new parts of myself. It's only natural that my blog continues to grow with me.

Sempiternal Adventures has always been a place for me to write about my life and all the things I find interesting. I love fashion and I probably always will but I think it's time for me to try something a little different. I have decided to focus on technology, design, coding and lifestyle.

I am not an expert when it comes to flat lays but I have been creating flat lays for about for years now and it has definitely taught me a lot. I decided to share what I've learnt and hopefully stop some one from creating the same mistakes as me.

1. Angles

Try to be parallel to the the area you are photographing otherwise it may create an awkward angle that is not aesthetically pleasing.

2. Lighting

Lighting is key. You may think it will be easy to fix the image through editing but it can prove to be a struggle when you are starting out. Natural lighting is your best friend.

3. Background

A background that contrasts the items in your flat lay is the best. You don't want your items disappearing in the background.

4. Positioning

Try to fill up your space without cluttering up the space. If you are going for a minimal look try to position your items in the centre. It's all about playing around with the positioning and seeing what works best.

5. Make mistakes

You won't learn everything over night. I'm still trying to figure it out.

1. Photo Stands - Typo

These are the most adorable things ever and I didn't even think twice before purchasing them I use the to hold up my to do lists and to decorate my room.

2. Shorts - Factorie

I bought these as soon as winter started and I still haven't gotten a chance to wear them. Can we just fast forward to summer already?

3. Mini Sewing Kit - Mini So

I was watching a lot of YouTube videos about sewing which made me think that I could give it a try. I went online, I discovered mini sewing machines and a few hours later I purchased one but that's a story for another day. I bought this mini sewing kit to use with my mini sew machine. Everything is mini and I'm loving it.

4. Taylor Bag - Typo

My sister bought this for me so shout out to her for being the best sister in the world. I thought it would be big enough for my laptop but it does the trick if I shove it in hard enough. It also adds a pop of colour to my life.

5. Pastel Backpack - Zara

This was on sale at Zara and I couldn't resist it. I had to use my emergency money but it was worth it.
