Now that we've got that out of the way let's take a look at my outfit. Can you believe I got this skirt from the kiddies section? All these big decisions to make and I'm still shopping from the kids section, way to go Tshegofatso. You know what they say, if the shoe fits wear it or in this case the skirt. As I mentioned in my 'Top Trends of 2015' post , suede was really a huge trend last year and I'm not yet ready to let go. I love the texture and the contrast with the black top. 

My top is a simple black long sleeved top from Cotton On. I feel like the skirt needs get all the attention that's went with plain top. I do however, feel that the shirt is quite simple and a bit boring so I jazzed it up with the lovely vintage looking necklace which belongs to my sister. Don't worry, what's mine is hers and what's hers is mine (well kind of).

I can't go too long without wearing these shoes for the simple reason that they work with all my outfits and they are super comfortable. Which to me is the winning combination. Of course, I can't forget about my socks. I like to make them visible as it adds a bit of quirkiness. If I were a cartoon character this is the outfit I would be drawn in. It's just so stylish yet so simple. It's just so me!

1. Pencil case:

I have had this pencil case for about two years now and I'm not planning on getting rid of it anytime soon. You may have spotted it in my '2016 Blogging Goals' post and as you can see it speaks the truth. No one ever thinks unicorns are lame. I really think this pencil case was made for me!

2. Colour Pens :

I can not cope without these. Last year I had such a wonderful pack of pens which I used to draw zentangles but unfortunately, I lost them. I did however, replace them with these pens and though they may be rather different I always find these so useful for making motes or just for doodles. They are also quite affordable which is always a winner. 

3. Daily Organiser:

Isn't this such a life saver? It is so pretty as well, I absolutely love the designs and I love the colours even more. As I mentioned in my '2016 Blogging Goals' post I really need to get organised this year and this is the first step. Seeing what I have to do motivates me to actually get stuff done.

4. Bright Ideas Notebook: 

I don't know what I would do if this book were to go missing. As it states, it's filled with many bright ideas, well mostly blogpost ideas and Youtube video ideas. I haven't filmed a video in ages but I will be uploading one soon because Santa brought me a tripod stand for Christmas. Thanks Santa aka mom and dad. 

5. Black And White Notebook :

I always take this notebook with me to school. Let me warn you, it's filled with lots and lots of to do lists. They make me feel organised and there's nothing that feels better than crossing something off. I got this from my sister for my birthday last year. It's has a bible verse on every page so not only does it help me stay organised but it also gives me a dose of inspiration.

I love getting braids but I hate sitting in the salon for hours. This dilemma is the reason I rarely get braids. Last year I only got braids once but with the school year beginning I decided I needed a break from combing my hair (trust me, it's a lot of work). 

When I walked into the salon I had no idea which hairstyle I wanted. I was thinking of going for the usual long braids but sister suggested I try something different. New year, new me? I went with the bob because my sister said that it's cool and why not?

I really love the way it turned out. I was a bit scared that the ends would be straight and that it would look odd but it's perfect! I did however, think that it would be really quick but it was longer than I expected. I spent about 3 hours in the salon, what took the longest was the process of burning the ends of the braids. 

The braids surprisingly didn't hurt at all and I'm definitely not complaining. The aren't many ways that I can style them. Tying up the top part and leaving the bottom loose is currently my go to style. These braids are something fresh and different and I love them!

The holidays are over. The decorations have been taken down, everyone is going back to school and work, it's just so hard not to notice that the festive cheer has vanished. Thanks to Elle Magazine a little bit of the cheer has been brought back with this wonderful nail polish from Catrice that came free with the January issue. 

It is a vibrant golden colour which makes me think of Christmas. Although I thought it was a bit yellowish at first I fell in love with it after applying it. This ultimate nail laquer in the colour 'Goldbusters' (there's something strange in the neighbourhood. Who do you call? Goldbusters!) The nail polish contains lovely glitter particles and it just completes the look. 

I do however, find that the nail polish is quite runny. Three coats work wonderfully for me and create a beautiful finish. It does also take some time to dry which I am not a fan of because I am rather impatient. It's longlasting abilities do pay up for the before mentioned. I guess you could say good things take time. 

The nail polish also has a lovely shine to it which I find quite surprising as I would think that a glitter and shine would be too much. I really think this nail polish from the Catrice Ultimate Nail Laquer range is indeed the ultimate nail polish! Longlasting with a great finish. It's available from Dischem but I am unsure of the price. Whatever it may be I think it's worth it!

Ever since I started drawing I've learned a lot more than just drawing techniques. I wanted to learn how to draw for quite some time but I just kept brushing it off. Early last year I asked myself how I can continue wishing I could draw and then not anything about it. So I picked up my pencil and I started to draw a portrait of myself and boy must I admit it was awful but I will never throw that drawing away. It's a reminder that if you want to go somewhere you have to start with a single step. 

This has taught me an important life lesson : if there's anything you want, you have to go out and get it. I've mentioned a couple of times that there were times when I have felt discouraged because the end product was not exactly what I envisioned but I've learned that looking back at how far I've come always helps. No matter how far I still have to go seeing how far I've come always encourages me to keep going. 

By taking the first step I have also found something that I really enjoy doing. I could spend hours drawing and I never thought I would find something else that I love as much as reading and writing but everyday I fall more in love with drawing. It's so therapeutic and never fails to fill me with joy. I hope you can all find the thing that makes you happy. Don't forget that it starts with a single step and no matter how slowly you may be going just make sure you're moving. One day you'll realise what a big difference little steps can make.

I can't believe it's the last week of the school holidays. They definitely went by in a flash but I'm happy to have gotten a bit of a break. I'm equally excited and nervous for the school year to start. This is my second last year of school (yasss) but that also means more hard work because these are the marks I'll be using to apply for university. That is also another story as I have no idea what I want to do after school. Other than that all is good and I am happy. 

My mom really seems to know my sense of style. She always picks out the best clothes for me when we're out shopping, this skirt being one of them. I absolutely love the style, a front button skirt with two front pockets which are more helpful than you can imagine. The skirt also has a lovely faded finish which embraces its vintage look. 

The skirt being high waist makes me think of one thing, cropped tops. I love the high-waist-cropped-top combo. I feel like they were made for one another and it goes to show that cropped tops don't always mean bare skin. This cropped top is one of my favourites as it's simplicity is so beautiful. It pairs well with just about anything and only cost me R60 for two at Mr Price. One was R50 so they basically giving me one for free, I'm not complaining though. You may spotted my burgundy one in my New Year's Eve Party Trends post. 

Onto the shoes. I finally decided it's time for my jellies to come out of hibernation. It's been really hot lately and these shoes are so cool (pun totally intended). They are absolute lifesavers. Whenever I can't find the right shoe for an outfit these come to the rescue and they always seem to work. The The Jamaican jelly heel is fun and is also comfortable. I also got a couple of compliments when I was out so yeah! 

My outfit wouldn't be complete without my daisy chocker. It's just a fabulous addition that pulls everything together.

The new year is always a great encouragement to try something new. It's a new beginning, a fresh start. New year, new me? Not exactly but I did try a different shade of lipstick. I always go for red and burgundy but this time I decided to opt for a purple hue. Not such a big difference but hey, it's something. 

The lipstick is in the colour Vibrant Violet from the Avon Ultra Colour range. As the name states it is a rather bright colour which is why I just go for one layer. It has its purple hue but it is a bit more subtle. This has made me realise that less is more but if you like a pop of colour I would really recommend it as it has great pigmentation. 

The lipstick has longlasting abilities which is always wonderdul. It also has just the right amount of shine and is also quite moisturising which can be hard to find in lipsticks. This is because it contains shea butter which has several benefits. You can read my review of 100% percent shea butter here.

The Ultra Colour range has a wide variety of colours as well as different finishes from the shimmering kind to a demi matte finish. I think this product offers value for your money, it's easy to apply, lasts for quite some time and has lovely pop of colour. If bright and vivid are your thing then it might not be for you.

Events and parties:

Cocktail dresses are ideal for party like events. The blue dress is an example of a simple beauty and can be paired perfectly with some jewellery. Sometimes simplicity is key. Sequin screams fun and is always the best choice for a party. That's why I had to add it to the list. I love the detail of the dress and the fact that it's not entirely sequin makes it quite unique. We can't forget about the LBD(little black dress) right? The lace and halter neck add a spin on the LBD we have been accustomed to.

Matric Dance/Prom:

My Matric is quickly approaching, just one more year to go. This is when most people get to dress up and go all out for the first time, which is why I think floor length dresses are perfect for any matric dance/prom. Rosa Novias has a wide selection of formal dresses so finding one to match your taste is quite easy.

Mermaid tail dresses will never go out of style. There's just something amazing about them and I'm guessing it's the mermaid part because they are so cool. This dress also has an added bonus with some lovely detail. The second dress is a bit more simple but the sequin pattern makes it perfect for evening wear. The blue and white create such an elegant contrast. The final dress reminded me of Frozen ( I have watched it more than 10 times). Who wouldn't want to go to their matric dance/prom looking like Elsa? It's your night and you are the queen.

Wedding:

The BIG day! I really haven't thought about my wedding day that much but I have seen some wedding dresses from Rosa Novias Au that have made me want to fast forward to that day. The first dress I went with is a beautiful lace design. Whenever I think of wedding dresses lace comes to mind and this dress is stunning. Beadwork also comes to mind when I think of wedding dresses. The second dress is a bit more reserved but the floral beadwork adds a statement. Last but not least is the mermaid tail wedding dress. As I said before, you can never go wrong with a mermaid tail. It's absolutely glamorous and the beautiful lace adds a cherry on top!

Get Organised:

I think I have a lot of time on my hands but I just don't know how to use it effectively. I have been planning and scheduling posts recently which has been helping a great deal. I think I need to write things down more often and do things as soon as I can. I just need a really pretty diary and I'll be sorted. 

Create a schedule:

I usually post on random days but I decided that it's time I come up with some kind of routine. I obviously need to get organised first but I'm getting there. 

Photography:

My photography has improved so much since I started. I cringe when I look at my old pictures. Tshegofatso how can you use a different filter for every picture in one post? I don't know what I was thinking but I have come a long way and I still have a long way to go. 

Triple My Traffic:

It's a bit ambitious but have seen my blog traffic steadily increase in the past few months and I happy with that. It's so amazing to see that so many people read my little blog. In 2016 I hope to reach a wider audience and maybe even imspire some people! 

Blogger Friends:

I don't think I have enough friends who are bloggers. It would be wonderful to have a conversation with someone and they just understand what I'm talking about. You feel me?

Youtube:

That is where it all began. I started making Youtube videos before I started blogging and somehow I just stopped making them. I spend all my time watching Youtube videos and in the new year I hope more of my own. It's always fun to make them, I love being in front and behind the camera! 

Contribute:

I really enjoy writing but my blog is the only platform where I do this at the moment. I would love to write for some magazines whether online or hard copy. It just be amazing to share my work.

Social media:

I would like to grow my social media following this year. It wouldn't hurt to have a couple more followers, right? I think it will really benefit my blog and help me reach a wider audience. 

Blogger Events:

This is a crazy one because I'm probably the most socially awkward person you'll ever meet. I just don't do well in social situations but seeing pictures and videos of blogger events has definitely made me want to attend a few. They look fun and it would be fantastic to meet some like minded people.
