I have been watching Josie's videos for quite some time now and I'm not going to be stopping anytime soon. She is very creative and you won't find any videos like hers elsewhere. With a bit of fashion, diys and just about everything else you could spend all day watching her videos. She is also great with her camera and creates the most interesting videos. I especially love her stop motion videos which inspired me to try some of my own. It's not as easy as it looks but I'm not giving up!

Ana Marta:

Ana is a graphic design sstudent and her videos are not only entertaining but quite intriguing too. She has a unique style of creating her videos and I'm always excited when she uploads a new video. She also has wonderful animations which are lovely to see.  

Kianahearts:

I am a huge fan of Rookiemag and I am always on the site reading articles and comics and looking at all the amazing photography and illustrations. I discovered Kiana's channel one day when I searched 'Rookiemag' on YouTube and I haven't looked back. She has some of the most amazing videos that I always enjoy watching. She has unique style and I'm always eager how to see how she mixes and matches her thrifted items. There are also some awesome DIYs on her channel which I always enjoy!

I love a fun and entertaining Youtube channel and this is exactly that. Liketso makes fun and interesting videos. If it's get ready with me videos, lookbooks and some other cool tags you are looking for this is the place to go. I especially enjoy her lookbooks and she has a fantastic sense of style and I always get an idea or two.

New Age Creators:

This is a Youtube channel which I recently discovered and one that is rather new, as if I need more ways to use my data but I'm not complaining. This channel is the hub of creativity. It is a collab channel in which Ana Marta is also part of, it's only getting better right? The youtubers tackle a different topic each and it's wonderful to watch from their different perspectives.

Just a few days ago I got to visit the Pretoria Art Museum. I had planned on going a while before but the last time I went it was on a Monday. They don't open on Mondays so you can guess how that went. Nevertheless, I had a lovely time and it was a great experience as it was my first time visiting an art museum. Second time lucky! Unfortunately, we weren't allowed to take pictures inside but don't worry because I'll tell you all about it! 

My sister and I decided it was better to go early in the morning. What better way to start a new day than with a dose of art. Before you even walk into the museum you are greeted by some beautiful pottery which is just a preview you of what you are yet to see. Inside are hundreds of lovely artworks from paintings to drawings to sculptures and just about everything else you can imagine which will have you walking for longer than you can imagine. 

You can choose to have one of the museum guides to walk you through or you can choose to go at it alone which is the option my sister and I went for. We were also the only people inside the museum at the time and it was quite exciting. 

We started with an exhibition titled 'The Early Days' and I believe that it took us the longest. It was simply amazing to see how Pretoria looked years ago and to think all of it was captured through paintings. It was difficult to wrap my head around the fact that where we see tall buildings in the city were once tiny houses. 

The photography was absolutely amazing. My favourite piece was one titled 'We confuse ourselves' which was an image taken from either inside or outside a building and there is a reflection on the glass which makes it quite hard to figure where the image was taken from. If you are confused you've got the picture. The photographs went a little quote that really got one thinking. I must admit that I didn’t understand all of them but they were alk interesting anf as one of my favourite quotes says, 'She never looked nice. She looked like art, and art wasn't supposed to look nice; it was supposed to make you feel something.' 

We then went on to look at the history of South African art which was wonderful. Everything was captured so beautifully. All kinds of art from different all come together to create a wonderful artwork. We walked around discussed the details of the different pieces, at that moment we were art connoisseurs.  

We finished off our visit with the children's art which was adorable. It was lovely to see their artworks and try to figure out what they were painting. This exhibition is running until January and it is a project to bring awareness to HIV/Aids.

My visit to the art museum was better than I could have imagined and I left with a new sense of inspiration to create. Thank you Pretoria!

I always ensure that I have some kind of lip butter with me at all times. It always comes in handy as it keeps my lips hydrated. I have gone through tonnes of lip balms some that I love and others not so much. The one's below are some of my favourites, they really do stand out! 

I have used petroleum jelly on my lips for as long as I can remember. It is just so hydrating and keeps my lips moisturised for longer. I usually go for the unscented kind as it works as an undercover lip butter. You can't smell it , you can't see it but you feel that your lips are hydrated and sometimes that's all that I need. The one I own is the 10ml Vaseline Blueseal and it is adorable, I almost cried the first time I saw it. The container is nice and small, ideal for keeping in your pocket or throwing in your handbag. I have only found the 10ml Vaseline at Jet and I would like to assure you that this little baby goes a long way.

The Labello Vanilla and Macadamia lip butter has been with me for almost the entire year and I wouldn't have it any other way. I have also seen it gain popularity so I guess that say something about it. This lovely product smells amazing and is ultra moisturising. However, I have noticed that it wears off rather quickly but that is not too much of a problem as you can 19ml at a quite an affordable price.

If I could live in The Body Shop I probably would. Everything in that store smells edible and I just happen to be the biggest fan of delicious smelling beauty products. I can't be the only one! This Strawberry scented lip butter is heavenly, people will ask which perfume you've been using. It has a lovely smooth texture and easily slides accross my lips. The lip butter also has a slight gloss to it. It is overall a wonderful product, a burst of flavour and has fantastic moisturising abilities!

Markets are so wonderful. Last month my sister and I spent a day at The Social Market ( you can read about it here). It was loads of fun and ,of course, we purchased a few items. When I spotted this jumpsuit I just had to get it and the price made me want it even more, just R50! I bought it from the Urban Retro Vintage Sisters stall and you can follow them on Instagram (@urban_retro_vintage_sisters) for more unique vintage clothing. 

What got my attention was the print. I surprised myself because jumpsuits are not usually my thing but this particular one looked playful and fun. This jumpsuit has some lovely tropical prints and what I like is that they're not too bright. The print screams summer but the colours tone it down making it a bit more subtle. The light material and the loose fitting style make it ideal for summer and it definitely solves my 'I don't know what to wear' dilemma because I just throw it on and that's about it. 

What's fantastic about jumpsuits is that you can easily dress them up or down. The type of shoes you choose play an integral part. Going for a flat shoe makes an outfit relaxed and simple whereas wearing a high makes it a bit more formal. I decided to go for the wedges because the pair so well with the jumpsuit. It's keeps the outfit simple yet not too simple. I went minimal with the jewellery, a plain crystal necklace, the jumpsuit is the statement of the outfit afterall. It's definitely playtime with this playsuit. Simple yet stylish and overall amazing and perfect for some holiday fun!

This year has been a crazy one indeed although I am happy that it's coming to an end I did learn quite a few important lessons that I will keep with me forever. 

1. Life is not fair. Good things happen to bad people and bad things happen to good people. That's just the way it is and it's not about to change anytime soon.  

 2. If it makes you happy do it. Don't be afraid of what people will say because whatever you do someone will always have something to say. Thinking about yourself and your wellbeing is not selfish. 

 3. You'll never know unless you try. As Walt Disney once said, " If you can dream it, you can do it. " 

 4. You have to work hard for what you want. Nothing will be handed to you on a platter. You can have whatever you are willing to struggle for.  

 5. It's okay to cry. Cry when you have to, then wipe away your tears and pick yourself up. 

 6. School is important but your mental health is way more important.  

 7. Bad days don't last forever but neither do the good days. So, enjoy the good times and accept the tough times. 

 8. You are going to fail, maybe even a couple of times but failing is part of succeeding. Be patient.  

 9. Everyone is facing their own problems. Be kind and help where you can.

10. Breathe in, breathe out. Everything will be okay maybe not today or tomorrow but remember that the storm will pass.

I was scrolling through Tumblr a while ago when I came across a post that stated that it’s often seen as okay when academic people cannot participate in creative tasks but when the situation is flipped around, often the creative is viewed as lazy and not trying hard enough. The post sparked something in me and it became evident to me that people have formulated certain stereotypes towards creative people. I think it’s time we emphasize that being creative is as important as being academic. That it is okay to aspire to be a writer, a photographer, an artist, whatever you may wish to be. 

We have this set idea that one is meant to attend school, go to university and find a job. I am not saying that there is anything wrong with this, I’m saying that there are other options and I would have been very grateful if I had learnt this an earlier stage of my life. It is only recently that I started looking at various creative careers and actually considering them as options all because as I have had a fixed idea of how my life was meant to turn out. Mary Lou Cook describes creativity very beautifully, “Creativity is inventing, experimenting, growing, taking risks, breaking rules, making mistakes and having fun.” 

What stops us from trying to discover our creative side is fear. Fear is a prison, it will take you into custody and finding your true self won’t be an easy task. I have been a victim of fear, it took me quite some time and courage to finally share my writing and to express myself more openly. I’m still on my journey of learning to let go of my fears and express myself. I have discovered that freedom lies on the other side of fear and I am hoping that everyone can learn that too.

 Art is about open opinions and understanding rather than formulae and measurements. It’s a way to learn more about one’s self, to discover where your passion lies and how you would like to spend the rest of your life. We have this fear of being wrong and being rejected but art is all about the opposite.  As Joseph Chilton Pierce once said, “To live a creative life, we must lose our fear of being wrong.” 

Choosing the creative path is an unconventional  decision, it is like choosing the road less travelled, you will never know how things may turn out but then take a moment and ask yourself, which ever path you may decide to choose how can you ever be sure? The creative route is an option, everyone should be made aware of this. We shouldn’t take a certain direction because it has been programmed into our brains but because it is what we truly want.

We all have those days when we have nothing to wear. Nothing in the closet seems to be working. You find yourself sitting in heaps of clothing and all of them just aren't right. It is a nightmare but luckily there are a fee apps that will always come to the rescue when you are in for some outfit inspiration. 

Instagram has definitely got to take the number one spot. I spent countless hours on Instagram and I follow quite a few bloggers and Youtubers who know how to put together some wonderful outfits. I like to turn to them for inspiration or better yet, I turn to outfit accounts. I wish I could personally thank the creators of those accounts because they have made my life a bit easier by putting a variety of such wonderful outfits into one place. My favourite accounts have to be @anouxoutfits and @amicanstyle

Polyvore is yet another app I could spend too much time on. Not only do I enjoy browsing through other people's collages but I enjoy making my own to. It's fun and easy to use. There are thousands of items to choose from ranging from dresses, shoes and bags to art, decor and home ware. It is such a great platform to inspire others and get inspired. People put together the loveliest outfits which will definitely inspire your choice of clothing. Creating perfect looks for anything from concerts to date nights.  

If are looking for a dose of street style, Stylekick is the place to go. It is a great source of inspiration and you can also shop the looks. It is almost like Instagram but just fashion. Amazing right? They also recommend items and outfits for you, just like a a guardian angel. It is a lovely platform and I enjoy looking at the everyone's unique street style. Definitely adds a kick of style when I am in need of inspiration.

I love reading, sitting with a book (sometimes my tablet) and escaping into a different world. I must admit that I haven't read as much as I would have liked this year but I did some pretty good books and I have taken so much from them.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower

I am yet to watch the movie but I'm glad I read the book. It is such a well written book that will keep you wanting to read more. It has also changed my views on some things and the style that it is written in is so intriguing. Read the full review here.

I love books that can make me cry(is that weird?) and I had tears streaming down my face whilst reading this book. It's such a wonderful which make you feel different types of emotions. I loved reading the last words of people that have past away, it really gets ome thinking. Read the full review here.

I'm not usually a fan of happy endings, it's just not how life works. However , this book was so inspirational and made me realise that sometimes the plan you have for your is not necessarily how life will turn out. As the year draws to an end it's time to reflect on all that has happened in this roller coaster ride wide we call 2015. The good, the bad and just about everything else in between. This year I have bought a lot of new items and I'm still trying to decide whether or not that is a good thing. There are times when I think my money just went to waste but there are also times when I think my money was well spent. Between all the items I bought this year, there are a few items that stand out and make me happy that I bought them.

My dream is to travel the world. To explore, to see all that this world has to offer. When I spotted this travel journal I just had to buy it. My sister insisted that it was a waste of money as I wasn't planning on doing any travelling any time soon. The pages still remain bare but I believe that a day will come when I fill those pages with the wonderful stories of my adventures. Therefore, not a single part of me regrets buying it.

I love plants but I didn't want to any real plants because I'm not the best at taking care of them. It's harder than it looks. This is my latest succulent in my collection which now consists of four pot plants. It's really fun and exciting and I hope my collection will continue to grow in the coming year. 

I had been searching for a crystal necklace for quite some time before I actually found this one. When I spotted it on sale at Lovisa I knew I had to have it. It is simply so beautiful and I now wear it so often that one would think it is permanently attached to my neck. 

These shoes are my latest buy and I just can't seem to get them of my feet. I don't even remember which shoes I wore before I owned these. They are simply so comfortable and stylish. I have received dozens of compliments about them. These will definitely stay with me as we go into the new year!

No matter what time of the year it is, burgundy lipstick will always be my favourite shade. This is a matte lipstick from Inglot and is overall a wonderful product. 2015 was definitely all about matte. 

You never know how much you need a plain black top until you need a plain black top. My mother insisted that I buy this top and I'm glad I did. It's a simple crop top that is versatile and never fails to come to the rescue when I have nothing else to wear. 

Last and definitely not least is this lovely bag that has replaced my backpack. I love its unique style and fold over flap. It's quite simple, very spacious and hasn't gotten much of a break as it's constantly swapped between my sister and I. Definitely a great investment!

When summer starts and school ends there is only one thing one my mind, NAIL POLISH. After a whole year of not being allowed to wear nail polish it's time to give my nails a taste of the good life. I remember back in primary school I would paint each of my nails a different colour when the holidays came around. I have learnt a lot since then and now I just stick to one colour. I haven't managed to stock up on any new polishes but there are a few that will always be my favourites.

Essence is my absolute favourite nail polish brand, not only is it affordable but it is also of a good quality. 'A whisper of summer' is the lovely pastel shade that I own, it lasts for quite some time even when I do not use a top coat. It also dries rather quickly which is something I always look for in nail as I am rather impatient. When the nail polish chips, it chips in chuncks and makes it impossible to get away with it. Maybe it's not such a bad thing because chipped nail polish is never in style.

The next two are nail polishes are from the Vixen Nail Lacquer range. The are also quite are affordable and come in a wide range of colours. One is a light greyish shade with a some glitter and once I see glitter I know I'm in the right place. The swear the second nail polish was made for me. It is a mix of green and blue with a hint glitter. It's the nail polish I imagine mermaids would use. This nail polish does take some time to dry but it it also quite longlasting. I guess good things come to those who wait!

It's the most wonderful time of the year but it's easy to forget the true meaning of Christmas. I do admit that receiving gifts is exciting but I think Christmas is more about sharing, giving and putting a smile on someone else's face and as my sister told me, "It's not about expensive gifts but more about giving gifts with sentimental value". This year I want to spread the Christmas joy and remember what Christmas is really about and I couldn't find a better way to express this than with these quotes.

I can spend all day on Instagram, it's one of my favourite social media sites. To think that I was hesitant about getting an account but I now I can't imagine life without it. I have been following Anna Grostina for as long as I have been on Instagram. I absolutely adore her account. She takes the most beautiful pictures and has the ability to make anything look like art. I always keep up with her travels from country to country and enjoy watching her occasional goofy videos. She is also quite inspiring, I assure you that after scrolling through her feed you will be inspired to do something with your life.

If it is a splash of colour you are looking for this is the account one account you need to follow. When I first discovered ABM I spent all day looking at all the amazing DIYs on their blog. I then headed to their Instagram account and I was not disappointed. Colourful walls, diys, yummy treats, just one beautiful mess.

People with pretty and well organised themes make me so jealous. I have tried it many times before and I can tell you that it is not an easy task. Lindi has a lovely monochromatic theme going on. Crisp white sheets, palm trees and lets not forget the delicious looking food snaps but it's her theme that will get you drooling. Ultimate goals!

I bought 100% shea butter about a month ago at a market. I was really excited to try it out and promised a review. So here I am because I keep my promises. 

It is a very interesting product. What makes it so interesting is that it's shea butter in its natural form, meaning that it can be applied from head to toe. This is really what got my attention and made me buy it. 

It's has a petroleum jelly like texture and has been treating my skin very well, leaving my skin feeling smooth and hydrated. I do find that it can be quite difficult to spread it over my skin at times and it has a strong scent which you either love or hate and I have found that I'm not a fan of the smell. 

Despite this I do believe that it is a good buy as it is moisturising and acts as a natural sunscreen. I have also heard a lot more about shea butter, you can read more about its benefits and uses. I can not find a better word to describe it than interesting, it's a product like no other and I think it's a must-have!
