Miss Salon London Launch Party

On Friday I had the opportunity to attend the Miss Salon London launch party at Menlyn Maine. I really had a wonderful time and I'll definitely be returning soon.

The niht started with me getting a little makeover and I cannot even explain how excited I was. My makeup was on fleek and the best part is that with the MSL cosmetics I couldn't even feel that I was wearing makeup.

I wasn't very familiar with Miss Salon London before the launch party but I got to find out more about them and I am excited to say that I am impressed. First of all, I love the look and feel of the salon, it's the perfect example of simple yet elegant.

Miss Salon London offers a variety of services such as makeovers, manicures, pedicures, massages and the list goes on so just do yourself a favour and take a look at their site here. The best part is that you always get to enjoy some drinks while at the salon. So, if you ever want to treat yourself, you know where to go.

Overall, I had a amazing evening, I got to meet cool people, enjoy good food and just enjoy the boisterous atmosphere. Can we just fast forward to the school holidays because I desperately need to get my nails done.

Beauty Goals

I really wishI had amazing makeup skills but unfortunately that's not the case. I do however, try my best and my winged eyeliner game is pretty okay I guess. I have a long list of things I would like to improve and I decided to dedicate an entire post to that. One day I will look back at this post and see how far I've come (hopefully). I don't know when I'll get to try out new looks because makeup is pretty expensive and I've got super sensitive skin but I'll make a plan.

1. Contouring because it's 2017 and I'm still trying to figure it out. What am I doing with my life?

2. I didn't like eyeshadow but I saw some fabulous looks. I decided to give it a try and all I can say is, it's harder than it looks.

3. May my highlight be brighter than my future. That's all I need to say.

4. Eyebrows? I am still not sure about this one. My eyebrows are pretty okay but they can be better.

5. Basically everything.

Online Shopping Tips and My Experience

Online shopping is definitely my thing and if I had more money I would probably do it more often. It just makes life way simpler and you don't have to interact with people (socialising is a lot of work). A lot of people have been asking me a couple of questions about online shopping so I thought I would answer them.

Is it safe?

Just make sure to do some research about the store and read any reviews out there. The rule of thumb is that if it seems too good to be true it probably is.

What's your favourite online store?

Definitely Superbalist and eBay. Superbalist has tons of cool items, they always have sales and delivery is pretty quick. I love eBay because you can find just about anything. I did have a problem with one of my items not arriving but I filed a complaint and I was refunded within a couple of days.

How long does it take for items to arrive?

It all it depends on the store but international items have to go through customs and this may cause them to take longer to arrive.

What if I don't want to use my bank card?

PayPal will save your life. It's a safe way to use money online because all you need is your email address. I am not really good at explaining so just take a look at the site.

How much does shipping cost?

It all depends on the store. Shipping costs are my worst enemy. Sometimes the shipping costs more than the item and that literally breaks my heart. You may also have to pay get your item from the post office.

10 Things That Make Me Happy

I haven't bloged in two weeks. It's just that life got in the way and I just needed a break from everything. My phone also got stolen so that sucks but I'm okay. Since a lot of bad stuff have been happening in my life lately I thought I would do a little post to focus on the positive things. So, here's a list of things that make me happy. I am probably going to forget a couple of things so please forgive me.

1. The Internet
How can I not start with the Internet? I have met some cool people and discovered some pretty cool things. I will eternally be grateful for it.

2. My Art Journal
I started my first art journal about 2 years and I kind of lost interest in it but in December I started a new one and it is now my favourite thing on the planet.

3. Food
Mostly ice - cream, pizza and chocolate.

4. Books
I haven't been reading books as much as I would like to but I love escaping into a different world.

5. My Dog, Fiona
Fiona has been part of our family for half of my life now. I can't imagine life without her.

6. Slam Poetry
Nothing touches my soul like slam poetry. I wish I had the ability to come up with such beautiful writing.

7. Scented Candles
I wish I could afford all of them, they just fill me with so much joy.

8.My skateboard
Can I ride it? Barely but I always wanted one and now I have one so I am happy.

9. Pictures
I like looking at old pictures and it's wonderful to see that a moment can be captured forever.

10. Creating
I love painting, drawing, coding and writing because I can start with nothing and create something and that's just magical.

Making Things Happen

It seems as though January lasted forever but I can't help but notice how I have hardly done anything to reach for my goals. I always start off the year with loads of motivation but as soon as time goes by it slowly begins to fade away.

I don't want to start off 2018 thinking about all the things I could have done. Motivation isn't always going to be there but I have learnt that you have to wake up everyday and remind yourself why you started.

There will be some days when you are tired and that's okay. Take a break and then carry on working on what you want. It's about making things happen and even the smallest things can make a huge difference.

I am starting to feel inspired again. I'm taking my time with things and I'm realising that no matter how much I want something there will be days when I don't even want to get out of bed. That's okay because we need to recharge our batteries once in a while.

I have got big dreams but I'm also in the process of figuring things out. There are no rules and what I want to achieve now now will probably totally different from what I want six months from. It's a journey of discovery and I'm still learning. I have got goals and I'm trying my best to achieve them.

A Look Into My Art Journal #3

I haven't posted I ages. I didn't use my bullet journal last week so everything got completely disorganised. I was also very tired so I decided to just take a break from everything. I am back and I am feeling rather motivated after recharging my batteries and I have also learnt a lesson.

I am also working on something quite cool but I'll share more about it in about two weeks. I am excited and I really hope it works out. No matter how messy my life may be I'll always find time for my art journal. I try to journal at least twice a week and it's just wonderful and really therapeutic. I thought I would a couple of pages I have done recently.

18 Things To Do Before I Turn 18

I am going to be 18 in less than 2 months. I am not ready to turn 18. I just want to be a child forever. I want to live without responsibilities. I know that's quite unrealistic but a girl can dream. There are still a couple of things I want to do before I turn and so I thought I would share them. Here are 18 things I would like to do before I turn 18. I'm not sure if I'll be able to complete the list before my birthday so I'll carry on even when I'm 18. My life, my rules.

It's a new year and I am still doing blogposts. I'm thinking of making these a monthly thing but I don't want it to get boring. I am still try to figure that out until then here's what I'm loving at the moment.

Typo Diary

This diary only cost R10 which means I had to get it. It really helps me with planning my blogposts. Unfortunately, it only goes up to June 2017 but I'll deal with that then.

Laptop Stickers

I have wanted stickers for my laptop for as long as I can remember. I could never actually find stickers that I liked but sometime last week I found these cool stickers from Typo and now my life is complete.

Jacket

This is actually my sisters jacket but we we are sisters so it's ours. I have one similar to this one so we need to plan who's going to where which jacket when. I love the style of this jackets and it works with most of my outfits.

Cat Ears

I bought these on Black Friday and they just completed my life. You can take a look at my Black Friday haul here. You don't understand how much these cat ears have improved life. I am happy.

Shoes

I have only worn these once but they are the best. They only cost me R70 at The Fix. I absolutely love the fix because they have wonderful clothing and at reasonable price. What more can you ask for?

Activity Books

Colouring books are my favourite things right now. I really wish I could spend more time on them but I appreciate the time I spend with them. It's great to have a little digital detox.

Pencil Case

The best part about going back to school is the stationery shopping. I love stationery so much and I wish I could by it all. Unfortunately, I can't do that but I did get a pretty cool pencil case and that makes me feel better.

Dream Journal

Last but not least is this journal my sister bought me for Christmas. I am currently using it for my dreams and goals but I also want to change it up and add some other things in it. I am still trying to figure it out but I love getting creative with it.

Tips On Staying Organised

I don't think I have ever been so organised in my life. Since school started I just started to get my life in order. It turns out that there are enough hours in the day if plan accordingly so I have been learning how to make it work. I've got goals and I am working hard to achieve them. Staying organised is a very important aspect of reaching your goals so I thought I would share what's been working for me.

1. Bullet Journal

A bullet journal is basically a journal to do some planning, set goals, track habits and just about anything else. I use mine to write todo lists, set goals and just get a little creative. I can't even explained how much it has helped me. I am probably going to write an entire post about it.

2. Wake Up Earlier

I don't get enough sleep and my mom is not happy about that but late nights and early mornings are my thing. It give me more time to be productive and there's no better feeling than that.

3. Do It Immediately

Procrastination is everyone's worst enemy so if there's anything you want to do just get up and do. It's one of the hardest things to do but it's totally worth.

4. Set Goals

My goals give me the most motivation. Think about where you are and where you want to be and start something everyday to get you closer to your dream. Set small goals and work towards them everyday.

5. Relax

I give myself one day every week where I don't have to do anything. Sometimes working hard everyday can be stressful and I always feel super afterwards.

A Little Update

life January 17, 2017

I just started my last year of high school. Can you believe it? I am excited and I'm also still trying to figure out what I am going to do with my life. I thought I would share a little update about what's happening in my life at the moment.

This year is a very important school year for me and will require lots of studying which is something absolutely hate. I know I have to study so I have created a studyblr to keep myself motivated. A studyblr is a Tumblr account dedicated to all things about studying. I never thought this day would come but I've got to do what I've got to do. You can take a look at it here and I will try to post about once or twice a week.

However, to keep things fun I've decided that my studyblr will also focus on my coding projects. I will be trying to develop one small video game every week or two.

I am excited and I am feeling motivated so let's do this. I have decided to reduce my blogposts from 4 a week to 3 and I will try to upload a new video every week. As you can see I am a very busy bee but I got this.

Essence Lip Liner Review

I have never in my life thought about purchasing lip liner but I was on Facebook the other day and I saw someone using it as lipstick so I decided to give it a try. I purchased the Essence lip liner in the shade red blush and I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, it didn't turn out as I expected or maybe I just wasn't trying hard enough. The lip liner cost approximately R20 so I'm not complaining.

I am glad that I went for the red blush shade as it matches most of my lipsticks. I was scared that it was going to be a bit weird on my lips because I have seen some scary things out there but it helps define my lips. To be honest, I don't always notice that it's there and it sucks that it didn't work as lipstick, I guess called lip liner for a reason. I'm happy that I got to add a new item to my makeup collection.
